Meccano is the original Metal Construction Toy. But to many enthusiasts worldwide, the Meccano System is often described as Engineering in Miniture.

The main idea of Meccano was in the beginning and still is today that the model you build today can be dismantled and built into something different tomorrow using the same parts with endless possibilities. The Meccano System consists of perforated metal and plastic parts including strips, plates, girders, wheels, brackets, gears, motors etc. plus nuts and bolts to hold everything together.

Meccano was first produced and patent granted to the inventor of the Meccano System, Englishman Frank Hornby in 1901.

Meccano Sets currently available are listed in the catalogue. Each set is complete with instruction book and the necessary tools for construction. All genuine Meccano Parts produced over the history of the construction system are compatable.

The Meccano City range consists of Large Parts for little hands and is made of plastic. This large range of sets is recommended for but not limited to the 4 to 8 year age group.

Meccano is Educational, Challenging and can encourage Inventive construction. Having been used to demonstrate Mechanical and Engineering principals in Schools and Universities, shows "Meccano is more than a Toy."

Spare Parts

There is a large range of spares available including the Red and Green parts of the 1950s and early1960s, then the Blue Yellow and Zinc colours from 1964 through to the mid 1990s as well as parts for the current range.
